Is Windows 11 really releasing? What do we know so far
At the Microsoft Build 2021, Satya Nadela, CEO of Microsoft hinted about the biggest update for Windows of the last decade. He said he is using it since weeks and it is really going to be special.
People always waited for the next generation or the next iteration of windows. Even after Microsoft stated that Windows 10 will be their last operation system, back in 2015. But this is almost half a decade ago. So is Windows 11 finally coming?
Whatever the name Microsoft may call it but, are there any changes made in Windows 11 compared to Windows 10? or it’ll be just like the modified version of Windows 7 with Windows 8pro again.
So here are some of the features that are expected to be changed in this massive upgrade.
The New UI
The next generation of Windows is being called the “Sun Valley” update. This update is expected to bring a UI that is more refined and modern. First, there will be modern icons everywhere. Windows 10 has already got a number of modern icons but “Sun Valley” will bring modern icons for every app and software. Microsoft is also getting rid of the icons that have been part of Windows since the ’95 version. The file explorer will also have more modern looking icons. The new Windows will have rounded corners everywhere. Let it be the start menu icons, context menu or even app outlines.
Since this is a new version of Windows after a long time, Microsoft is planning to make the tiles light in the menu and give it more Windows 10x look. And also the taskbar. There is going to be a drastic change in the taskbar, as far as we know, the taskbar is going to be a floating taskbar.
This update will be a lot of new features to the Windows 11. You will now be able to separate Windows Edge tabs from app windows in regular assist view. Moreover, snap assist will remember which app is snapped where. This will be helpful for people using large displays and multiple monitor setup. The battery page is also getting better. It will now monitor and shows you which apps are taking the most battery. It will also show you the graph of your battery percentage. Microsoft also seems to be working on the task behavior with a new layout for that as well where it gives you an overview of your Microsoft emails, upcoming events, to-dos, etc.
The new Windows will bring a new and revised store for the users. It comes with a new UI and interesting policies. The developers, are allowed to submit unpackaged Win32 apps to the store. Also, they can now host apps and updates on their own content delivery network(CDN). The developers will also be allowed to use third-party commerce platforms in apps. This ensures that those apps which were not present in store in the past will be there for us in this update. That’s all we know about the new Windows 11.
